We have teamed up with the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA) who we have a close association to. The primary aims of the ILFA are to provide a source of information and support to people with the condition and to provide funding for research and the development of new treatments for Lung Fibrosis.
Lung Fibrosis or Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung condition where fibrosis or scarring causes the alveoli (air scas) in the lungs to thicken and harden. The fibrosis interfers with the normal transfer of oxygen from the alveoli to the blood stream and results in low oxygen levels in your blood and shortness of breath.
The word "Idiopathic" means unknown. The cause for IPF has not been identified yet.
ILFA is funded solely by donations and the fundraising efforts of their supporters, which are vitally important for the continued existence of their research and education programmes.
For each silk pillowcase review that we get we will donate €1 to the ILFA.
ILFA is registered with the Companies Office and the Charities Regulatory Authority. Their financial accounts are audited every year and submitted to the Companies Office following their annual general meeting.
